Salon of the Month September 2019 – Indulge Beauty Co.

Nestled in the heart of Mornington – a seaside suburb an hour’s drive from Melbourne – Indulge Beauty Co. is a warm, inviting salon where owner Shanara Nettleford and her two (soon to be three!) therapists offer their tight-knit and loyal clientele a self-care haven where relaxation meets results.

Salon of the Month August 2019 – Fresh Face Bar

FreshFaceBar_ImageProduct_fromwebsite.png

Nestled in Melbourne’s trendy inner-city suburb of Richmond, Fresh Face Bar offers an escape from the hustle and bustle with their modern wellness space boasting treatment packages from a fully qualified team of skin specialists. Appealing to a unisex market, Fresh Face Bar is a unique fusion of day spa and skin salon, and their signature treatment is a non-invasive express treatment using the Dermalux LED Compact System in a laid-back lounge area.

Owner Lisa Vong believes that great skincare should be easily accessible and that everyone deserves glowing skin no matter their budget or time constraints, and this clever approach to wellness and skin health for busy lifestyles is reflected throughout the Fresh Face Bar client experience. Friend referrals get a free Dermalux  LED treatment, take-home products are prescribed to treat each clients’ skin issues holistically, and there’s an emphasis on accessibility and affordability for everyone.

“Make Fresh Face Bar the friend you meet for a regular lunch date, not the friend you always forget to call!”

Fresh Face Bar also utilises social media to run competitions that encourage their followers to promote their salon to a larger relevant audience through tagging and sharing. This often-underestimated marketing strategy has been hugely successful for Lisa and the team, growing their followers online and leading to more traffic coming through their salon door.

Once in the salon, clients can expect to get pampered with products from Image Skincare, Pure Fiji and ECOCOCO in conjunction with Dermalux LED treatments, and each experience concludes with the prescription of hardworking take-home products in a stunning retail space that includes new client favourite, Bestow Beauty. Adding Bestow products to their extensive retail range has allowed Fresh Face Bar to encourage their clients to take a holistic approach to skincare and wellness by feeding their skin from within.

“We chose to stock Bestow Beauty because we know it’s just as important to nourish your skin from within as it is to treat it topically. We’re big believers that a healthy gut is imperative to achieving glowing healthy skin, and our clients have definitely experienced less skin congestion since using Bestow Beauty on a daily basis.”

What really sets Fresh Face Bar apart is their efforts in going the extra mile – educating clients on skincare, wellness and gut health at a monthly “Fresh Faced Workshop”. These fun, interactive nights allow clients to get hands on with products in a safe and encouraging environment, learning fundamentals such as the importance of cleansing and the benefits of masking. And the best part is that these workshops are totally free! Fresh Face Bar knows that the hardest part of doing business is often just getting people through the door, and providing free workshops is a great way to attract new faces and let the amazing product range  speak for itself.

A big congrats to Lisa and the whole team at Fresh Face Bar! We’re thrilled to be a part of their success story and can’t wait to see how they continue to grow and succeed. A huge congratulations on being our Salon of the Month!

The Beauty Spot wins Salon of the Year- again! PBS Skin Summit 2019 Wrap Up

Hannah Oliver accepting the award on behalf of The Beauty Spot

There’s nothing we love more than celebrating the achievements of our salon partners, and the 2019 PBS Skin Summit – held over two days (19th & 20th May, 2019) at Sydney’s beautiful Doltone House Darling Island - was the perfect combination of celebration and education. Kicking off in style with the annual PBS Gala Dinner and a very special Image Skincare Worldwide Launch party, over 200 salon owners and beauty therapists came together to celebrate success, network with like-minded business owners and employees, and let their hair down!

The gorgeous Dani Lombard of Dani Lombard PR made for a hilarious MC, and there was plenty for guests to enjoy on the night - from Brazilian dancers shaking their tailfeathers and live band Bermuda Social playing dancefloor fillers, to a delicious 3-course meal and free-flowing drinks!

We were so excited to announce the newest brands to join the PBS Collective - Australian-made skincare brand Organic Nation, the entry-level priced Dermalux Flex, and the UK’s Lynton Lasers – and interactive displays meant guests could check out the new products for themselves throughout the evening.

As always, a photobooth provided hours of fun for attendees, but our favourite moments of the night were presenting our hardworking salon partners with their well-deserved Salon and Stockist of the Year Awards! The star of the evening was The Beauty Spot - an elegant and tranquil salon in the heart of Victoria’s Swan Hill, which scored a total of 3 nominations and took out the prestigious 2019 Salon of the Year Award for a second year running!

“Salon owner, Christine Ewart, and the amazing team at The Beauty Spot have been extraordinary ambassadors of PBS brands, and their ongoing growth proves how passionate they are about providing their clients with the best possible treatment and care. It’s one thing to have a selection of world class brands available in your salon, but The Beauty Spot also delivers outstanding treatments, next-level customer service, and life-changing results for their clients.” Matt Williams - PBS Managing Director,

Of course, Christine and her team were thrilled with their back-to- back win - “We’re so stoked to be awarded ‘Salon of the Year’ from PBS again this year! To be recognised two years in a row is just unreal, and it really motivates and inspires us to do more and be better.”

Day Two of Skin Summit was a full day of education and training designed to help our salon partners grow their business and maximise profits, and we heard from the experts on a range of business-building topics. We were honoured to have the incredibly knowledgeable Jacquelyn Hill - Image Skincare's Director of Education - join us all the way from the US to give us the inside scoop on the new range of Image masking products, and let us in on her top branding, consulting, and merchandising tips.

Guests also heard from our very own in-house Educators and Business Development Managers who ran through the latest products to join the PBS Collective, and shared insider tips on how to plan a successful and profitable event. PBS CEO Matt Williams went on to explain why a Dermalux LED System is the single best way to increase your salon's profitability, and we wrapped up the jam-packed day with a super-inspiring panel discussion, where our top salon owners shared their invaluable stories and advice. Guests benefited from the expert knowledge and practical teachings shared on the day, and walked away from the event feeling empowered to take their business to the next level!

Congratulations again to all our 2019 finalists and winners!

Salon of the Month May 2019 – Beautorium

salon pic 2 .jpg

Beautorium is a professional home-based beauty salon, designed to be the ultimate beauty destination for the busy working woman. Doing business for almost 7 years and going from strength to strength, Beautorium’s mission is to empower clients to believe that their appointments are an important part of their self-care routine, and not just a luxury.

Owned and run by Angela Sanchez, Beautorium offers flexible after-hours appointments and 1-on-1 customer experiences that offer skin and body solutions via new and innovative treatments and exceptional customer service. Angela strives for excellence in all that she does and wants to involve her clients in their skincare and wellness journey as much as possible.

Beautorium’s relationship with PBS began two and a half years ago when they took on Image Skincare and since then Angela has welcomed LUK Beautifood, WotNot wipes, CherryBlooms, Body Sugaring Australia, Sunescape and Ecococo Crystals into the salon. Says Angela, “Three years ago I felt lost, with no idea how I could grow my business, but partnering with PBS has lifted my business to new heights! It’s so important to find a brand partner who supports, encourages and recognises small business success and that partner is PBS! I’m so proud to partner with PBS because they continually deliver on their promises and always keeps me motivated to strive towards my business goals and growth!”

As part of their marketing activities, Beautorium ran a super-successful International Women’s Day Bestow Beauty Breakfast at a local café, which resulted in introducing 10 existing clients to Bestow Beauty and gaining two new clients to the salon. Attendees made ‘Bestow Glow Smoothie Bowls’ at this event, and they’re now being added to the cafe’s menu! Angela has also created a Beauty Addict Membership program which has increased customer frequency and spend within the salon.

Beautorium also uses the PBS Marketing on a Platter (MOAP) on a daily basis to share campaigns and implement marketing strategies in salon and on social media.

“I don’t have to view content creation as being a setback anymore because the MOAPs do it all for me! Using the MOAPs saves me so much time and I’ve definitely noticed that consistent marketing really does pay off. It’s so rewarding when your clients say something like, ‘Oh, what’s that facial roller thing I saw you doing on your stories?’ which then leads them to book a facial or buy the product and implement it into their daily routines.”Angela Sanchez, Beautorium owner

Well done to Angela for creating such an amazing salon! We’re excited to be able to be a part of Beautorium’s success story and can’t wait to see how the salon continues to grow. Congratulations on being our PBS Salon of the Month!

ECOCOCO Introduces Crystal Skin Healing

CRYSTAL SCREENSHOT .jpg

We hope that by now you’re familiar with the latest addition to the PBS collective - ECOCOCO! Australian owned and made, ECOCOCO is a wellness and lifestyle brand developed with natural, organic and performance based ingredients with certified organic coconut being the brand’s hero ingredient. Their signature treatments are designed to fit into any salon’s current business model and draw on wellness philosophies from all over the world, including Thai and Chinese rituals and Ayurvedic medicinal remedies. It’s no surprise then that ECOCOCO’s professional treatments also include the ancient art of crystal skin healing - a practise that dates back to the Middle Ages, 7th century China, ancient Egypt and India, and beyond.

The use of crystals in the wellness realm is nothing new, but in the past few years they’ve seen a huge rise in popularity, thanks in part to crystal-loving celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Bella Hadid, Victoria Beckham and Miranda Kerr. The power of positive energy is everywhere these days and bringing crystals into your salon space and using them in your treatments is great way to cater to clients who subscribe to their benefits (or at least their beauty!). In other words, if you’ve ever thought about incorporating crystals into your salon in any way, now’s the time to do it!

ECOCOCO offer a range of crystal products, designed to be used in various treatments to enhance skin appearance and client wellbeing, and we’re pleased to announce that these are available for purchase by all PBS salons.

ROSE QUARTZ FACIAL CRYSTAL

Perhaps the crystal most synonymous with the current wellness movement, rose quartz is the ultimate beauty crystal, believed to reduce impurities and stress in the skin. ECOCOCO’s rose quartz face crystal is designed for use in a soothing massage (a gentler version of the ancient Chinese practice of gua sha) aimed at increasing microcirculation, thereby plumping and smoothing skin and encouraging cell rejuvenation.

ROSE QUARTZ & AMAZONITE PALM STONES

Designed to fit in the palm of your hand, palm stones are versatile pieces that can be incorporated into treatments in a number of ways. Whether held by clients during treatment or placed on various parts of the face or body during facials and massages, ECOCOCO’s palm stones can be a comforting and grounding tool for your clients

JADE EYE MUSHROOM

A highly calming stone, jade is great for use on irritated and inflamed skin and is thought to improve skin elasticity. ECOCOCO’s jade eye mushrooms are designed to be used below the orbital bone in gentle gliding movements that encourage lymphatic drainage and reduce puffiness and the appearance of fine lines.

The coolness and weight of this mask helps reduce pore size, decreases puffiness and relax fine lines. ECOCOCO recommend keeping it in the fridge for ultimate results.

The Australian Beauty Brands You Should Know About

Consumers love to support brands that are Australian owned and made and recent research reveals that more than two-thirds of us prefer to buy genuine Australian-made products. Australia is at the forefront of beauty and skincare development and products are formulated with our laid back lifestyle in mind, making them a great choice for your clients. Plus, you can feel great knowing you’re supporting local businesses and keeping a smile on their faces! Here are the four Aussie brands we’re proud to distribute, from our very own home grown heroes!

Sunescape – Sunless tanning

Sunscape is an Australian owned and made sunless tanning range that was born by the beach in Sydney’s iconic Bondi and developed in partnership with Australia’s number one tanning salon, Tan Temple. After years of working closely with salons all over the country, the creators of Sunescape saw a gap in the market for a sunless tan formula that gave a healthy colour without streaking, patchiness, dryness or an orange undertone, and that was formulated without the use harmful ingredients. As a result, PBS founders Matt and Lisa set out to create a premium sunless tanning range and now Sunescape is known and loved for its natural-looking, long-lasting colour and delicious signature scent. Rest assured that this is a tan your clients will come back for time and time again!

Sunescape products are formulated using natural ingredients like coconut, macadamia seed and avocado oils and contain only certified natural DHA made from beetroot and rape seed. They’re also free from alcohol, petrochemicals and parabens.

Formulated to provide a natural looking tan (that smells amazing!) Sunescape products boast added vitamins, antioxidants and oils to nourish skin, as well as hydrating, firming and anti-ageing ingredients to leave skin smooth and replenished.

Sunescape has four beautiful shades named after iconic summertime destinations:

·         Weekend in Bondi (10% DHA – Light)

·         Week in Fiji (12% DHA – Medium)

·         Month in Maui (14% DHA – Dark)

·         Summer in Santorini (16% DHA – Ultra Dark)

The Sunescape range extends beyond professional tanning solutions to include take-home retail products including Instant Self-Tanning Mousse, DHA-free Tanning Products, Application & Removal Mitts, Hydrating Body Butter, Gradual Tan Extender, Illuminating Body Tint, Exfoliating Body Polish, Gift Sets and Triple Scented Soy Wax Candles.

Sunescape is a premium tanning product essential for any salon that seeks to cater to bronzed babes!

lük Beautifood – Lipstick

lük Beautifood was established in 2011 by Cindy Luken, an accomplished entrepreneur, food scientist, product designer and chef. Her mission is to give every woman the opportunity to cultivate her natural beauty without compromising her health and well-being. lük Lip Nourishes are a unique collection of lipsticks that feed lips with potent food-derived nutrients, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients that provide lasting hydration and protection.

Formulated without toxic ingredients that are known endocrine disruptors or carcinogens lük products are crafted from 100% natural ingredients and contain no preservatives, phthalates, petrochemicals or synthetic colours or fragrances. Proudly made in Australia and not tested on animals, the lük range of lipsticks are made from pure plant oils, mineral pigments and food active ingredients, making them the perfect choice for the health conscious client.

lük’s all-natural ingredients include:

·         Avocado oil, sesame oil and cacao butter to deeply moisturise lips.

·         Beeswax and lecithin lock in moisture.

·         Ginger and spices with anti-inflammatory properties.

·         Citrus fruits rich in vitamin C to help neutralise free radicals.

Each lipstick shade boasts its own delicious flavor, formulated with essential oils (our fave scent here at PBS HQ is Rose Lime!).

It’s time to clear out your old, potentially damaging lipsticks and replace them with lük Lip Nourishes! Perfect as a gorgeous point-of-sale display, your clients are bound to love this range!
