Cherry Blooms

Salon of the Month July 2019 – Blush Boutique

about-us1-960x535.jpg

Based in tranquil Gold Creek Village, ACT, Blush Boutique prides itself on offering a complete experience thanks to a full range of services that allow clients to be pampered from head to toe. Blush’s award-winning, fully qualified team of beauty therapists and hairdressers can do it all - specialising in makeup artistry, spray tanning, body sugaring, nails, hair styling, skin care and advanced skin treatments, including LED and needling.

Having first stocked Youngblood 8 years ago, owner Sammi Barton has since gone on to add Image Skincare, Sunescape, Dermalux LED, Bestow Beauty, Pure Fiji, Body Sugaring Australia, Wotnot and Cherry Blooms to her salon’s offering, with great success.

“We started with Youngblood many years ago and fell in love with the products - as well as the support that came with being a PBS salon partner. And as PBS grew, so did we! One by one we took on new brands that we knew PBS loved and trusted, and there’s not one brand we’ve put in the salon that we haven’t loved and that hasn’t flown off the shelves. The results that each brand delivers really do speak for themselves!”

As part of their marketing activities, Blush Boutique hold at least one VIP event a year which includes an evening of education, makeup demonstrations, and a hands-on contouring and brow class. They’ve held Skin School workshops to educate clients on effectively caring for their skin using the Image Skincare AM/PM principle, and Sammi has also implemented a client membership/loyalty program that’s noticeably increased the frequency of customer visits and in salon spend.

As Blush Boutique continues to flourish, Sammi credits not only her amazing team of therapists for the salon’s success, but also the invaluable support PBS provides. Using PBS’s Marketing On A Platter (MOAP) on a daily basis to share campaigns and implement marketing strategies, both in salon and on social media, has been crucial to the success of Blush Boutique, and has freed up Sammi to focus on other areas of her business.

“As every salon owner would know, it’s extremely hard to find the time to schedule marketing and put together campaigns, so having access to social media graphics, posters and EDMs via Marketing On A Platter has been amazing. Not only has it helped me increase my average client spend and visit frequency, but it also makes merchandising in the salon a lot easier! Instead of just having a wall of products, the marketing materials from PBS help me create stories within the displays – allowing me to create eye-catching point of sale areas.”

Salon of the Month May 2019 – Beautorium

salon pic 2 .jpg

Beautorium is a professional home-based beauty salon, designed to be the ultimate beauty destination for the busy working woman. Doing business for almost 7 years and going from strength to strength, Beautorium’s mission is to empower clients to believe that their appointments are an important part of their self-care routine, and not just a luxury.

Owned and run by Angela Sanchez, Beautorium offers flexible after-hours appointments and 1-on-1 customer experiences that offer skin and body solutions via new and innovative treatments and exceptional customer service. Angela strives for excellence in all that she does and wants to involve her clients in their skincare and wellness journey as much as possible.

Beautorium’s relationship with PBS began two and a half years ago when they took on Image Skincare and since then Angela has welcomed LUK Beautifood, WotNot wipes, CherryBlooms, Body Sugaring Australia, Sunescape and Ecococo Crystals into the salon. Says Angela, “Three years ago I felt lost, with no idea how I could grow my business, but partnering with PBS has lifted my business to new heights! It’s so important to find a brand partner who supports, encourages and recognises small business success and that partner is PBS! I’m so proud to partner with PBS because they continually deliver on their promises and always keeps me motivated to strive towards my business goals and growth!”

As part of their marketing activities, Beautorium ran a super-successful International Women’s Day Bestow Beauty Breakfast at a local café, which resulted in introducing 10 existing clients to Bestow Beauty and gaining two new clients to the salon. Attendees made ‘Bestow Glow Smoothie Bowls’ at this event, and they’re now being added to the cafe’s menu! Angela has also created a Beauty Addict Membership program which has increased customer frequency and spend within the salon.

Beautorium also uses the PBS Marketing on a Platter (MOAP) on a daily basis to share campaigns and implement marketing strategies in salon and on social media.

“I don’t have to view content creation as being a setback anymore because the MOAPs do it all for me! Using the MOAPs saves me so much time and I’ve definitely noticed that consistent marketing really does pay off. It’s so rewarding when your clients say something like, ‘Oh, what’s that facial roller thing I saw you doing on your stories?’ which then leads them to book a facial or buy the product and implement it into their daily routines.”Angela Sanchez, Beautorium owner

Well done to Angela for creating such an amazing salon! We’re excited to be able to be a part of Beautorium’s success story and can’t wait to see how the salon continues to grow. Congratulations on being our PBS Salon of the Month!

Salon of the Month - The Beauty Collective of Dubbo

TBC_salon.png

The Beauty Collective is a boutique beauty salon nestled in the rustic hub of Dubbo's CBD (NSW) in a beautifully restored 1800s cottage.

Owner Danielle Pearce, a professionally trained beauty therapist and highly sought-after make-up artist, has spent many years shaping her business to reflect what she personally seeks from beauty therapy and her focus is to offer professional and personalised beauty treatments with friendly customer service.

As one of the leading local businesses in the Central West area, The Beauty Collective attributes its reputation to the lasting customer relationships that have developed over the years and the belief that all customers deserve the highest level of service.

As Danielle explains, “because The Beauty Collective is solely owned and operated I’m able to provide the highest quality, personalised service to each and every customer. This is what makes us unique, as clients are guaranteed the same friendly therapist at every visit.”

After taking on Youngblood a decade ago after Professional Beauty Solutions took on the distribution, The Beauty Collective now stocks a total of six PBS brands including Sunescape, Image Skincare, Pure Fiji, Cherry Blooms and Wotnot. Before taking on a new brand Danielle thoroughly researches and trials the products to ensure that she personally experiences positive results, and she has seen firsthand the amazing results that PBS brands can deliver.

“As a makeup artist, Youngblood has always been the number one makeup choice for me because of its consistency, product range and company ethics. Stocking Pure Fiji in our salon provides that extra touch of luxury and also allows the client the opportunity to purchase the products that were used during treatment so they can create a similar experience at home. As for Image Skincare, I cannot recommend the range more highly! Having utilised many skincare products over the past 20 years in the industry, Image Skincare is by far the best cosmeceutical skincare range and the results truly speak for themselves.” Danielle Pearce, The Beauty Collective owner

One of the things that makes The Beauty Collective a stand out salon in the Dubbo area is their attention to detail. By establishing a close relationship with their clients they’re able to maintain the highest level of personalised service, every visit. “A follow up call with our clients after a skincare analysis or facial is a must to ensure they’re happy with the results,” says Danielle. She also like to surprise clients with small gestures like a complimentary hand massage, mini promotional products and signature refreshments.

TBC_Youngblood.jpg

The Beauty Collective’s marketing activities have seen them collaborate with many businesses in the area and they’ve been involved in a number of stunning bridal photoshoots using Youngblood products, which has boosted the salon’s profile as well as that of the Youngblood brand. The Beauty Collective also makes regular use of the PBS MOAP sets on its social media channels and in salon displays to generate interest and excitement around new product releases and special offers, and Danielle says this type of promotion means the products and services sell themselves.

Well done to Danielle for her amazing achievements! PBS are excited to be a part of her success story and we can’t wait to see how The Beauty Collective continues to grow. Congratulations on earning Salon of the Month!

Salon of the Month – Anna’s Skin and Beauty

a2.jpg

A beautifully appointed beauty salon in Townsville, Anna’s Skin and Beauty offers personalised beauty and skincare services courtesy of their experienced and passionate technician, Anna Preston.

After spending the last few years working with other local beauty therapists, Owner/Operator Anna now brings her 19 years of experience into her very own salon. Clients enjoy the specialised personal service she provides while using only the best professional skin care and mineral makeup.

“The biggest complaint I received as a manager working in previous salons was that clients see a different person each time they visit. Being an Owner/Operator, my clients see me every time. I do all the treatments and work alone. My clients love that they get me all to themselves when they come in…it’s a true one-on-one relationship” explains Anna.

However, it hasn’t been all smooth sailing for Anna’s Skin and Beauty in 2018. After 14 months of trading the salon was completely destroyed by fire. “My drive and determination was stronger than the devastation I was feeling” said Anna. Throughout the heartache, she stayed positive about getting the business running again, and in a remarkable turnaround, Anna’s Skin and Beauty had re-opened at a new premise in just 4 weeks.

The business has now begun a new chapter and currently stock Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics, Image Skincare and Cherry Blooms.

“I worked with Youngblood for about 14 years at a previous salon. I loved it then and thought it would be perfect for the North Queensland climate. As for Image Skincare, it’s my favourite skincare range of all time. I love the results I get for my clients and myself. Image actually CHANGES skin and people’s lives! said Anna.

On how to excel in customer service, Anna believes in continuous education and training, ensuring she’s offers the very best in client treatments and up-to-date customer education. “Being in the beauty industry for 21 years and attending countless seminars, training, customer service courses, I have learnt and developed how to give my clients 100% each and every time they come in. It’s about recognising what people want and need and providing that for them and not being lazy. As an owner operator it is up to me and me alone. I am 100% responsible for the success of my salon.” said Anna. “I am honest with my sales and client expectations. I’m not pushy, but I am helpful as I only want the best for my clients.”

Rated as one of the top 3 beauty salons in Townsville, as well as being featured in several North Queensland Magazines (including DUO, Success, and Business Development Magazine), Anna’s Skin and Beauty are also active users of Marketing on a Platter (MOAP), which allows them to easily run monthly and seasonal promotions in salon and via social media. “I LOVE MOAP, especially for inspiration and social media. The quality of the material and images provided is amazing” said Anna.

Well done to Anna for their amazing achievements 2018! We’re excited to be able to be a part of their success story and can’t wait to see how Anna’s Skin and Beauty continues to grow. Congratulations on earning Salon of the Month.

Rev up your Revenue with Lashes

The global trend to take over in 2018

With a 152% surge in searches in the past 12 months, Pinterest predicts that 'next level lashes' are set to be the top beauty trend for 2018! We explore how your business can take advantage of this trend and boost your profits through the roof.

Mascara is the number ONE beauty product women would use every day if they could only choose, according to a recent Lab42 Makeup Habits study*.

There is no question that the demand for lovely lashes continues to skyrocket – with the global lash enhancement market estimated to grow 5.83 percent per year for the next five years AND reach US$513 million in the United States by 2023 (Marketing Research Future 2018). Powered by the development of better eyelash enhancing agents and rapidly improving cosmetic technology that goes beyond the standard expectations, women across the world are on the search for treatments or products that will get them ‘next level lashes’.

Unmistakably, capitalising on this burgeoning trend is more crucial than ever to keep up with what your clients will mandate.

Majority of women want longer, thicker and darker eyelashes. But, in an industry that often demands the quick and inexpensive fix that helps them ‘get it now’, seemingly the only options to these women are costly and often laborious extension services. And unfortunately, many among your clientele will not be willing to fork out the dollars, or the time.

This has resulted in many salons side-stepping the semi-permanent, expensive lash lift and extensions path for easier, simpler products that provide instant profit growth for their business.

Consumer demand is at an all-time high for beautiful lashes, with 75 percent of young women* more than happy to spend money on makeup just because it makes them feel good. So, what is simpler and friendlier on your business than take-home lash products that are not only easy to retail to your clients, but also have extremely low expenditure and require no complicated training?

We take a look at two trending lash innovations in the market, giving you the choice of receiving results instantly with brush on fibres OR enhancing over the long term with a powerful growth serum. Pop these on your point of sale and pay your salon’s rent with these products alone!

Time to take your client’s lashes from how to WOW:

Growth Serums that Work

The industry has come a long way since the early days of lash serums that caused redness and watering, as well as darkening the eyelid skin and eye-colour of those that carried the chemical, prostaglandin.

We love the advanced Image Skincare Lash & Brow Enhancement Serum, as the serum of choice due to its intensified, prostaglandin free formula. Backed by clinical tests, and utilising a potent blend of peptides and plant stem cell extracts, this wonder product enhances the appearance of sparse lashes while conditioning and supporting follicles. Not only can you see visible results in as little as two weeks, but advanced serums of today fortify the hair to protect against breakage, and prevent further hair loss, making it perfect for those who struggle with thinning hair.

Enhancing serums have become increasingly popular due to their effective functional features. Your clients will see incredible improvement by using a serum daily on lashes and brows!

Brush on Extensions

When you’ve heard hundreds of horror stories of people gluing their eyes together with strip lashes, or the struggle to upkeep outwardly flawless eyelash extensions every two to three weeks, something that can give you the appearance of extensions in under 60 seconds sounds like a godsend.

It only takes three easy steps to enhance your lashes up to 300% with the Cherry Blooms Fibre Lash Extensions Mascara, thanks to the power of brush on fibres. No glue, no mess! This number one salon recommended eyelash extensions solutions adds 3D volume and instantly produces longer, more natural looking lashes without the finicky process of extensions or lash lifts. As simple and familiar as applying mascara, let your customers trial a tester of the lash building black fibres, and watch this product sell itself!

Salon of the Month - The Temple Skincare & Spa

33aa4c691cb94886df6956c71cb39159.jpg

Down by the pool of The Hill Lodge boutique hotel in Castle Hill, The Temple Skincare & Spa resides with one mission once you walk in the door, to give you a special spa experience that leaves you feeling pampered and tranquil.

“Everything we do at The Temple is aimed at exceeding every client’s expectations on every visit, our day spa packages are designed to alleviate stress and tension.”, The Temple Skincare owner, Rene Thorpe, says about her spa.

The Temple Skincare & Spa has seamlessly integrated the concepts of a nourishing day spa, and results focused medi-spa, to help their clients completely care for their clients, from offering serious results, alongside bringing about balance through relaxation, de-stressing and wellness.

TheTempleSkincare3.JPG

With 15 years in the industry and through their holistic approach to skin, beauty and wellness, The Temple has been able to call their clients family. From those having a simple brow wax to a complete day spa ritual, everyone is accustomed to the special and personalised treatment The Temple provides.

I believe our family culture is probably the most special thing about our business. What we as therapists can offer a client is so much more than a facial… it is a transformation of her soul where for the time she is in our care, she forgets all the stress and struggles of life, bringing about a deep relaxation she did not expect. What an honour!

The Temple stock Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics, Dermalux LED, Bestow Beauty, Image Skincare, Sunescape and Cherry Blooms Cosmetics, to give their clients everything they need. With these brands, comes a lot of expertise and knowledge that Rene knows needs to be constantly updated and worked on, to bring her clients the best they possibly can.

I emphasise education in my spa to raise the bar in our industry. We invest into training our staff and empowering them to be the best in their field.

Rene maintains her commitment to training her staff by holding a ‘Style Session’ once a month in the spa for a specialist training session. “We normally focus on a specific skin condition or a treatment, and do the treatments on each other because you cannot give the love to your clients if you are never getting it yourself!”, Rene exclaims.

Along with their extensive sales and product training, and consultation meetings with their Business Development Manager putting them at the forefront of the industry, The Temple is also unique in their investment to bringing the latest technology to their clients to give them the results they deserve.

We have 3 Dermalux LED machines in our business as they absolutely rock the results and the cash flow! Not one person that walks through our door doesn’t need the LED.

The Temple Skincare & Spa follows the old saying, ‘if you don’t look after your customers then someone else will’, and encourage their clients to constantly give them feedback via an automated survey sent directly to their email once their treatment is finished, allowing them to act on any concerns or post any raving fan comments onto their social media pages.

Along with the promise to provide the best results, The Temple also runs a rewards program that allows clients to earn points for every dollar they spend and redeem on their favourite services. According to Rene, this program has been very successful and helps them to donate some of the percentage of profits to the Look Good Feel Better Foundation.

In recent years, The Temple has won several awards in their spa, including Winner of ABIA Beauty Salon and Business Owner of the Year in 2016, something that Rene and the team accredit to the brands they stock and the support and training that PBS provide.

It is refreshing to have a supplier that has the knowledge to understand that supporting their clients and empowering them with the tools they need to grow is key. I have been in the industry for 25 years and there are few companies that supply this level of marketing and support to the standard of MOAP, along with the exceptionally skilled trainers like Denise.

Congratulations The Temple Skincare & Spa for being PBS’ April Salon of the Month!
