PBS Went to Webinar Wonderland in the Face of Covid-19
When the beauty industry closed its doors…our salons opened their minds.
As the lockdown of the beauty industry hit, our partnered salons were forced to close their doors. As these tough Covid-19 operating restrictions were placed on beauty businesses across the country, it became clear what we had to do for our partnered salons as not just a supplier, but as their complete beauty and business solution. From the get go, we wanted to ensure that each and every one of our salons & their team of staff could capitalise on the downtime while their doors remained closed.
What that lead to? An abundance of education & training delivered to our salons, with a range of daily webinars presented by only the best beauty experts that our industry has to offer. Over the 6 weeks that our salons’ doors were closed, we ran over 25 webinars! Each one providing a significant amount of insights, knowledge and tools to come out of Covid-19 on top!
Skincare
Our skincare-focused webinars stretched far and wide, covering everything from the importance of treating the skin from within to the skincare benefits of mineral makeup. Our first skincare-based webinar kicked off with our in-house Image Skincare guru & NSW BDM Denise showing our salons why Image treatments are for the SMART therapist in her Treatment Success that Leads to Lifelong Raving Fans webinar. We even had Image Skincare Head Global Trainer, Jacquelyn Hill join us on a few occasions to talk about all things skin.

Business
For PBS, all things skincare and beauty are paramount, however we also believe a vital component of being a supplier is business education & support. That’s why we felt compelled to deliver insightful webinars on profitable business systems to how to how to maximise being a PBS stockist.
Our very own founder and managing director, Matt Williams delivered an excellent webinar on Creating Profitable Business Systems. Karen from Beauty on Burke raved about Matt’s webinar;

Technology
Its 2020 and that means learning about technology-based treatments and devices is imperative to being a success within the beauty industry. This webinar category was nothing short of educational excellence, as industry legends got into the nitty gritty of skincare technology. Internationally-renowned businesswoman, coach, mentor, educator and ABIA hall of Fame winner Gay Wardle lead our webinar on Understanding Fundamentals of Skin Health when Using Advanced Devices. While TADLI’s top trainer Nancy joined our WA BSM Kathy to cover all things Plasma Fibroblast & its Rapid Client Results, and Hayley Jones from Lynton Lasers delved into the ins and outs of IPL.

Are webinars the way of the future?
If we’ve learnt one thing coming out of Covid-19 lockdown… it’s that technology is INCREDIBLE. Webinars work & the power they have to reach our salons no matter where in Australia they’re located is unparalleled. When it comes to the beauty industry, training often needs a more “hands-on” approach and we will continue to offer that to our partners. However, it’s clear that webinars can be transformative for online education and that’s something PBS will continue to offer in the future.
Wrapping up…
At PBS, we aim to be our salons complete business solution. We were founded on the belief that being a beauty supplier was simply not enough and it only made up a small fraction of the support we wanted to provide.
